Who is Andy Sweet?
Andy has spent most of his life on the Western Slope, and he brings that same grit, warmth, and neighbor-to-neighbor trust to everything he does. As a longtime barber, he’s known for the open, friendly, face-to-face connection that only comes from listening to a community one person at a time. Before stepping behind the chair, Andy worked as a machinist, where he learned the value of precision, dependable routines, and well-built systems—skills he believes belong at the heart of the Mesa County Treasurer’s Office.
Outside the shop, Andy serves on several local nonprofit and county advisory boards, giving him firsthand insight into the needs, strengths, and challenges facing Mesa County residents. He’s also an author—something he still can’t quite believe when he says it out loud.
Andy is running as a term-limited candidate, because he believes public service is a civic duty, not a lifelong career. His goal is not only to serve responsibly but also to support and mentor the next leader who will carry the work forward with integrity, transparency, and community focus.
